A lot of changes in the woman’s body may occur especially when she is pregnant. The pregnant woman and her baby inside the womb may undergo three trimesters of pregnancy period before birth. Each trimester has three months and that is known to be the stages of preganacgy. Here are the stages of pregnancy week by week for you to read on.

The 1st Trimester
1st to 7th Week
•Head, elbows,chest, shoulders,abdomen, hips, and knees and start to formed.
•The eyes and ears formed.
•Development of mouth and jaws outlines.
•Spine is more flexible.
•Legs, arms, toes, and fingers begin to formed.
•Lungs are also developed.
•Intestines start to form.

8th to 12th Week
•Development of the ears, eyes, nose, and mouth continues.
•Heart starts to pump.
•Arms, hands, legs, and feet grow quickly.
•Internal organs start to function.

Week 13 – Week 16
•The development of the eyelashes and eyebrows are complete.
•The heartbeat of the fetus can be auscultated with the use of Doppler and observed with an ultrasound.
•The weight of the fetus doubles up.
•Stronger muscles in the legs and arms.

The Second Trimester
17th to 20th Week
•The baby grows bigger and bigger.
•Muscles develop more rapidly and increase in muscle strength.
•Lanugo or very fine hair is present.

21st to 24th Week
•Growth and development is fast.
•Sucking their thumbs is seen in the ultrasound.

25th to 29th Week
•Mature lungs are formed.
•Accumulation of fats in the skin of the baby.
•Vernix coats the skin of the baby.

The 3rd Trimester
Week 30 to Week 40
•Vernix disappears during this stage.
•They have the ability to close and open their eyes.
•The head of the baby is down to the lower part of the abdomen of the mother (except they are breech).
•The head and the body of the baby is now proportional.
