I love to be outdoors, but it is not always easy with the various allergens you can encounter, especially when you are in a different part of the country or the world. That is why I have found that allergy medicines can make such a difference.

One of my favorite activities is to go exploring in wooded areas. I particularly enjoy this after a good rain, because there are so many creatures and critters out foraging for food after a good storm. One would think that allergens would not be so bad just after a storm, but this is one of the worst times for me. The good thing is that all I have to do is take a couple of Benadryl, and I am fine.

I also really like to spend time in my garden when spring rolls around each year. This is when allergy medicines come in really handy, because it seems like pollen is just wafting off of those flowers at times. I have found that using a Claritin tablet makes everything better.

Another thing that most people would not think of as a time to use allergy medicines is when you’re cleaning. For me personally, dust is something that always gets my allergies going, and it almost becomes debilitating after a while. If I take some allergy medicine before I get started, however, this is not a problem at all for me.

I think one of the more interesting uses for allergy medicines has nothing to do with allergies at all. My sister was with me one time on a four-hour flight, and wanted to sleep before she got our destination. She took a couple of Benadryl. I asked her if her allergies were acting up, and she said they were not, but she wanted to go to sleep, and she knew that they would make her drowsy.

When I think of all of the ways that a person can make themselves drowsy to go to sleep, taking Benadryl seems pretty benign, and at the same time, a very good use for allergy medicines.

For some people, allergy medicines are absolutely necessary. My son, for example, gets allergies so bad that he becomes physically sick if he does not have his medicine. My wife and I never know when an attack will kick in, but we always keep his allergy medicines around the house just in case.

There are many uses for allergy medicines and they can make quite a difference. I am sure that there are many more occasions that people find to use them, and for me and my family they are essential.
